Tune in to John Stossel’s program on FOX Business Network tonight at 9:00 PM EDT for an in-depth look at America’s lawsuit abuse problem.

Stossel uses the annual Wacky Warning Label Contest I created 13 years ago and which is now sponsored by the Foundation for Fair Civil Justice to jump-start a national debate over the high cost excessive litigation is imposing on families, job providers and communities.  At the beginning of the program, Stossel rides down 47th Street in New York City on a go-cart that warns: “This product moves when used.”

Our popular contest uses humor as a hook to reveal that product makers are so worried about frivolous lawsuits today that they have to slap all sorts of obvious, common sense and silly warnings on the things we buy.  If they don’t, personal injury lawyers will sue them for “failure to warn,” and these lawsuits are not only making those lawyers rich, they are actually making the rest of us less safe and making the products we buy more expensive!

On July 7, Megyn Kelly talked with Stossel on FOX News’ program, America Live, and provided a preview of tonight’s special.  To see that six-minute segment, click here.

Kudo’s to Stossel for taking an entire hour to expose the damage plaintiff lawyers are causing in our country.  We’re thrilled that our Wacky Warning Label Contest was the catalyst for this segment, and we’re looking forward to having Stossel’s audience select the cash prize winners in our contest this year.  Who will win the $1,000 cash prize?  Tune in at 9 PM EDT to find out.

More importantly, tune in to see experts debate how the frivolous lawsuits that created the need for these wacky labels are changing our society for the worse.   Stossel’s guests include Steven Hantler, chairman of the Foundation for Fair Civil Justice, James Copeland, Director of the Center for Legal Policy at the Manhattan Institute, yours truly, and, on the plaintiff’s side, personal injury lawyer Geoffrey Fieger and another lawyer who specialized in suing ladder makers.
